Western Illinois Chapter of
Farm Safety 4 Just Kids






     The Western Illinois Chapter of Farm Safety 4 Just Kids awards two $300 scholarships annually to qualified high school seniors in Western Illinois. The scholarships provide an incentive for young people to volunteer in safety programs throughout the Western Illinois area. Any graduating senior may apply. Click here for the Application Form, or contact your high school Agriculture Advisor. The application deadline is April 12th each year.





2008 Scholarships


          Keenan Smith of Pittsfield High School has been a long-time Chapter member who has been involved in all facets of Chapter activities ranging from active participation in Chapter planning meetings to instructing at the Chapter's annual Farm Safety Day Camps and assisting at a variety of other Chapter activities over the past nine years.

          Keenan plans to attend John Wood Community College and Western Illinois University with an occupational goal of becoming an Illinois State Trooper.







          Jenna Guthrie of Western High School in Barry has assisted with a variety of Chapter activities and has been active in FAA, 4-H and the Mounted Angels Therapeutic Riding program. Jenna's participation in Chapter activities has included giving equine safety presentations at the Chapter's annual Day Camps along with assisting with Day Camp set up, tear down and registration.

          Jenna plans to attend the University of Missouri at Columbia with the goal of becoming a large animal veterinarian.
